Walls That Talk: Mural Concepts for Nairobi

Virtual ExhibitionKUNSTMATRIXCurationGuided Tour
Walls That Talk 3D gallery room on KUNSTMATRIX with mural concepts hung along the walls

Project Overview

Nairobi talks through its walls. Painted minibuses, shop shutters and murals carry the city’s humour, hopes and arguments. Walls That Talk imagines twelve new murals for the city and hangs them in a virtual 3D gallery on KUNSTMATRIX Art.Spaces. We handled the concept, curation, exhibition text and installation.

Three Groups, Twelve Works

  • Moving City: Matatu Dreams, Boda Boda Ballet, City of the Sun, Jacaranda Season
  • Hands and Patterns: Mama Mboga, Kanga Code, Beadwork Horizon, Tin Roof Rain
  • Voices and Futures: Hustle, Sauti (Voice), Neighbours, Wind Over the Hills
